Cookies policy

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on JointLib, for what purpose, how long they are kept and how you can manage your consent. This policy should be read together with the Terms and conditions.

1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the site to "remember" you between pages and visits — for example to keep you signed in or to preserve your chosen theme. Alongside cookies, we also use localStorage, a similar browser mechanism for storing preferences on your device.
2.Legal basis & consent
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive:
- Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of the legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure site. They cannot be disabled, because without them the platform cannot operate.
- Optional cookies (preferences and analytics) are used only with your consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 6).
Your consent is stored locally, in the key constapi-cookie-consent, and is requested again periodically or whenever the policy changes significantly.
3.Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary
These provide authentication, security (anti-CSRF protection) and session persistence. They are essential and always active.
Preferences
These remember choices such as the theme (dark/light) and the state of the side menu, for a consistent experience.
Analytics (optional)
These help us understand, in aggregated and anonymised form, how the platform is used, so that we can improve it. They are enabled only if you accept optional cookies.

The exact names of the ASP.NET cookies may vary depending on the configuration. The _ga and _ga_* cookies are written by Google Analytics 4 and appear only if you chose “Accept all”; if you choose “Necessary only”, the Google script is not loaded at all. If we integrate further third-party analytics tools in the future, this inventory will be updated before they are enabled.
5.Third-party services
For fonts, styles and JavaScript libraries we load resources from content delivery networks (CDNs) such as jsDelivr, cdnjs and Google Fonts. When these resources are loaded, those providers may receive your IP address and technical information about your browser. This is necessary for the page to display correctly and is not used by JointLib for profiling. Consult their privacy policies for details.
With your consent for optional cookies we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) for aggregated usage statistics: which pages are visited, how often and from which country. We do not send Google your name, e-mail address or the data you enter in the calculation pages. If you decline optional cookies, the Google script is not loaded at all; if you withdraw your consent later, the _ga cookies are deleted and the script is no longer loaded on the next page load.
6.How to control your preferences
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the preferences banner:
In addition, you can block or delete cookies directly from your browser settings. Note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, some features — such as signing in — will no longer work correctly.
7.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect technical or legislative changes. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the update date shown at the top. For significant changes, we will ask for your consent again.
